The Residential Utility Consumer Office was established by statute to represent residential utility consumers and is funded by a surcharge on utility bills.  RUCO intervenes in most major rate cases.

RUCO's Director is appointed by the Governor.  Currently, Jodi Jerich serves as RUCO's Director.
